Weekly Savage Music Update

MGMT released a song to be on their new album, Congratulations (the one with the bad 90’s cartoon artwork). You can listen to the song Flash Delirium on Pitchfork

It’s definitely got an eclectic sampling of different music in it, but to be honest we aren't sure if it is living up to MGMT’s former Savage potential. Oracular Spectacular was chock full of electro-Savage jams that have since been overplayed into non Savagedom, but this new jam is a bit more rock n roll. It’s too early to tell what the rest of the album will be like, but we hope they keep at least some of it Savage.

On that note, we’ve come across a new sound from a super Savage group straight outta the southland from good ol’ Savannah, GA. SUNGLASSES is their alias and their jam WHIPLASH has been blastin in my headphones on repeat. It’s a feel good summertime hit for sure and the video is nothing short of awesomely Savage. That outfit and mustache, surrounded by ladies mean muggin in their stunnas… doesn’t get much more Savage than that. I hope to hear more from these Jorja boys very soon!

And finally, Yeasayer’s been working on a video for ONE, which is one of the more Savage songs on their recent album. The video is SAVAGE. We won’t give it all away, you can watch the clip at PopJustice.  But we will say this… aliens, barrel fires, warehouse parties, cages, neon lighted instruments, MC Hammer pants = THE MOST SAVAGE PARTY EVER. If we could have a Modern Day Savage themed party, it would be exactly like this, we wouldn’t change one thing. I want to live in this video it’s so Savage.
